The SAM5000 series is built around a new highly speed optimized 16-bit CPU (P16XT) and a configurable array of hardware accelerated 24-bit DSP cores (P24XT) enabling 56-bit MAC operations. With a sophisticated sample buffering system and a multi-channel Audio DMA operating in a multi-layer architecture, the SAM5000 series is capable of high performances for sound synthesis, audio processing and effects generation.
The new series supports a large variety of memory types: SLC NAND Flash, parallel or serial (Quad-SPI) NOR Flash, SRAM or DDR/SDR SDRAM.
A built-in 1kbit eFuse provides a plenty of irreversible One-Time-Programmable (OTP) bits for the storage of configuration parameters, decrypt keys and other security purposes while copy-protected sound banks and firmware are decrypted on-the-fly.
All members of the SAM5000 series also offer state-of-the-art communication interfaces such as USB 2.0 High Speed, 10-100Mbps Ethernet MAC and S/PDIF. Additionally, adaptive clocking schemes including phase synchronization to external audio clocks are supported.
Time-to-market cycles are significantly reduced by providing comprehensive development tools, libraries and software suites that are delivered on request.

SAM5916B | High-performance Keyboard Synthesizer The SAM5916B includes sixteen 24-bit DSP cores and is delivered in a 216-pin QFP package that provides two separated high-speed memory ports in addition to various communication and user interfaces. The SAM5916B enables 256-voice high quality sound synthesis combined to high-class effects generation. SAM5716B | High-performance MIDI Synthesizer and Effect Processor The SAM5716B includes sixteen 24-bit DSP cores and is thus capable of high performances. Delivered in a 128-pin QFP package, the SAM5716B is highly configurable and supports a large variety of parallel or low pin count memory interfaces. SAM5808B | Medium range Keyboard Synthesizer The SAM5808B includes eight 24-bit DSP cores enabling up to 189-voice high quality sound synthesis with effects generation. Delivered in a 176-pin QFP package, the SAM5808 supports various memory configurations and is mainly intended for digital piano, keyboard and electronic drum applications.
